I’ve got a tyre that’s beyond saving I’m pretty sure, there’s a gash in the sidewall from brushing against a sharp curb at a weird angle, definitely not repairable. The car is sitting at home with the spare on right now but the spare is one of those space saver donuts that’s only rated for 80 km/h and short distances, so I can’t really use the car properly until I get a proper replacement. I’m trying to figure out if a mobile tyre repair service Sharjah can bring a new tyre to my apartment and fit it on site, or if they only do puncture repairs and I need to find a way to get the loose wheel to a tyre shop myself. I know the battery replacement guys also do tyres but I’m not clear on whether they stock common tyre sizes in their vans or if that’s only for emergency repairs. My car takes 225/55 R17 which is a pretty standard size so I’m hoping it’s something they’d carry, but I don’t want to call them out just to have them take one look and say they can’t help. Anyone had a mobile service actually supply and fit a new tyre at their home or workplace, and how did the pricing compare to going to a tyre shop, was there a significant premium for the convenience or was it fairly comparable? I’d happily pay a bit extra for not having to limp across town on a space saver spare.
